When I was waiting outside theatre for a D&C to remove my dead baby, a nurse tried to talk to me about God's plan. When I came round, my first words were, keep that nurse away from me. Some people might like it but it crushes others and this is supposed to be a secular hospital.

There was a chapel in Holles Street too. Haven’t been there in a bit though. And a chaplain visited parents in the NICU in the NMH. Again, maybe that’s changed. There is/was a chapel in Crumlin Children’s hospital. Some people like it on hard days, even atheists like me. https://twitter.com/drboylan/status/1526190962158059524

JFC The comments on this excellent piece do as much to justify action as the piece itself. I would say don't read them but please do, especially if you think sexism doesn't affect older women.

If you could RT my piece that would be great. I’m so tired now. It’s difficult at my age to keep trying to say older women matter. I do get that no one cares & why. It’s not easy after decades of misogyny not to think that the status quo is right…xx https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/tv-baftas-older-women-ageism-b2074051.html
